Empowering Careers and Navigating Tough Choices

At MIT45, one of the core values that drives us is our commitment to empowering the people who support us. We care deeply about our team, their growth, and their long-term success. That’s why we’ve built programs and resources to help our employees progress in their careers and achieve more than they ever thought possible.

Here’s what that looks like:

Every team member has access to continued education reimbursement—$1,250 per quarter—to help them advance their skills and grow in their roles. Whether it’s pursuing a certification, learning a new discipline, or honing existing talents, we’re here to support that journey.

For those aiming higher, we also offer college tuition reimbursement. As long as it’s an accredited university, we’ll cover up to $5,850 annually, provided a solid academic performance. On top of that, we provide books, training, and other resources to empower our team members to push boundaries and evolve in their careers.

But here’s the tough part. Even with these initiatives, there are moments when hard decisions need to be made. Running a business means balancing a lot of priorities—the needs of our team, the growth of the company, and the vision for where we’re headed. And sometimes, that means letting people go.

It’s one of the hardest things I have to do as a leader. To say, “I care about you, I want you to succeed, but right now, we need to part ways.” It’s frustrating because I genuinely want everyone who joins us to be in it for the long haul. I want everybody to win.

This duality is one of the challenges of leadership. On one hand, it’s about building opportunities for growth and supporting people as they climb higher. On the other, it’s about making tough calls that align with the bigger picture, even when they’re uncomfortable.

At MIT45, we’re committed to navigating this balance with integrity. We’ll keep investing in our people, providing them with the tools to grow and succeed. And when tough decisions arise, we’ll face them with the same level of care and respect that defines everything we do.

Because at the end of the day, empowering careers and making hard choices are both part of what it takes to play to win.
