Key Points of the Newsletter

  • Avoid limiting questions: don’t let concerns about cost or time hinder your pursuit of a meaningful goal. Focus on the value and importance of the goal instead.
  • If a goal aligns with your values, the length of the journey becomes secondary to the progress and growth experienced along the way.
  • A compelling "why" will drive you forward and help you overcome obstacles related to cost and time.

Stop Limiting Your Potential by Asking the Wrong Questions

When you set a goal that truly matters, one that lights a fire within you and points you toward your North Star, there are two questions you should never ask: How much will it cost? and How long will it take?

Let’s break this down.

When you’re driven by a goal that’s deeply meaningful—a goal that could change your life or the lives of others—worrying about the cost or the time it will take is like shooting yourself in the foot before you even start. Think about it: If your goal is truly that important, does it really matter what it costs or how long it takes? If it’s your North Star, the thing that pulls you out of bed in the morning and keeps you up late at night, why let anything else get in the way?

The Cost is Irrelevant
Let’s start with the cost. We’re conditioned to think in terms of dollars and cents, to weigh every decision against a price tag. But when it comes to goals that matter, this mindset is limiting. Yes, resources are finite, but if the goal is compelling enough, you’ll find a way to get there, no matter the cost.

Instead of asking how much something costs, ask yourself what you’re willing to do to make it happen. What sacrifices are you willing to make? What creative solutions can you find? If the goal is worth it, you’ll find a way to cover the cost. The real question is, are you willing to pay the price, whatever it may be?

Time Shouldn't Be a Barrier
Next, let’s talk about time. We all know time is precious, and none of us have an infinite supply. But when you’re pursuing a goal that aligns with your deepest values and desires, does it really matter how long it takes?

The journey might be long, it might be challenging, but if you’re focused on your North Star, the passage of time becomes less relevant. What matters more is the progress you’re making and the growth you’re experiencing along the way. Time is going to pass anyway, so why not spend it doing something that truly matters to you?

Focus on the "Why"
When you set a goal, instead of asking about the cost or the time, ask yourself why this goal is important to you. What makes it so compelling that you’re willing to do whatever it takes to achieve it? This is the question that will drive you forward, that will keep you going when things get tough, when the road seems long, and when the costs start to add up.

When your "why" is strong enough, the cost and time become secondary. They’re just part of the journey, not barriers to it.

Commitment Over Comfort
In the end, it’s about commitment. Are you committed to your goal, or are you just interested? If you’re committed, the questions of cost and time won’t hold you back. Instead, you’ll focus on the things that matter most: your vision, your purpose, and your relentless drive to achieve what you’ve set out to do.

So, the next time you set a goal, don’t limit yourself by asking the wrong questions. Focus on your "why," and let that guide you to success.
