When it comes to talent, I’ll be the first to say it’s all about perspective. At MIT45, we’ve been fortunate to assemble a team that has driven us to unprecedented levels of success. This quarter, we’re performing better than ever before. By every metric, we’ve surpassed where we’ve been in the past—and that’s worth celebrating. But here’s the challenge: growth creates a paradox. While our current team has brought us to this point, I can’t ignore the fact that we’re still far from where we want to be. Looking at the future, it’s clear that achieving the ambitious targets we’ve set will require even more—more talent, more innovation, and more refinement in how we operate. It’s the classic PPT—people, processes, and technology. In any business, those three pillars determine success. Right now, we’re at a critical evolutionary point where talent—our people—is the focal area. The truth is, as you scale, the demands on your team evolve. The skills and strategies that worked at one stage might not be enough to carry you to the next. That’s not a knock on anyone. It’s a reality of growth. What got us here won’t necessarily get us there. And as a leader, my role is to navigate that tension—to honor and celebrate the incredible work our team has done while staying laser-focused on the future. Part of that means continuously seeking out the best talent we can attract within the pay bands and resources we have available. It means not settling, even when it would be easier to coast on today’s success. Because for me, playing to win means never losing sight of the bigger picture. Growth is uncomfortable. It’s messy. It’s full of hard decisions and moments where you feel stretched to the limit. But it’s also exhilarating. It’s about looking at your business and saying, “This is great, but how do we make it even better?” That’s the mindset that drives us at MIT45. So, to all the leaders out there grappling with similar challenges: keep pushing. Celebrate your team for getting you to today while building for tomorrow. The balance isn’t easy, but it’s worth it. After all, that’s what it takes to play to win. |
