The Billion-Dollar Behavior Shift |
Most people think the more successful you get, the more freedom you earn. More revenue, more staff, more automation—more time to “step back.” Right? Wrong. I was on a call this morning with the woman who’s helping grow my LinkedIn presence. She asked a question that stopped me in my tracks: What’s different now—at $75 to $100 million in revenue—than when you were running a $15 million company? One word: Focus. Here’s the irony. Our business is more automated than ever before. MID45 is a machine. It runs like clockwork—whether I show up or not. There’s no operational necessity for me to be in the trenches. But I’m more locked in, more obsessed, more present than I’ve ever been. It’s an inversion most don’t understand. The closer we get to $100 million, the more ruthlessly I protect my focus. Distractions don’t just cost time—they cost trajectory. Growth at this level isn’t about speed. It’s about precision. Too many entrepreneurs think automation is the goal. It’s not. Liberation from chaos is the goal, yes. But once that’s achieved? Your greatest edge is your capacity to focus on needle-moving activity with obsessive clarity. You want to scale? Get your house in order. Delegate like your future depends on it. But then double down on your highest leverage work. You don’t build a nine-figure business by default. You build it by design. And that design? It starts with focus. When you’re playing to win, you don’t disappear. You go deeper. You don’t spread out. You dial in. Not because you have to—but because the mission matters too much not to. So wherever you’re at—$1 million, $15 million, $75 million—the question is the same: Where’s your focus? Because if you don’t control it, the market will. And I promise you—average results love a distracted operator. Let’s play to win. |
