The Power of an Emotionally Calm Investment |
I want to talk today about making decisions from a place of emotional calm. In the world of business and personal growth, the decisions we make should come from a place of certainty and calm, not from an emotionally charged state. Let me share a story with you about a recent interaction I had. A potential client expressed interest in joining my coaching program. Now, whether someone signs up for coaching with me or not, it doesn’t impact my life or my family’s well-being. It’s not about the numbers; it’s about the genuine commitment to growth. When this client initially decided to invest, I played a takeaway game. I didn’t immediately confirm his enrollment because I wanted to ensure he was making a calm and considered decision, not one driven by a momentary emotional high. This wasn’t a tactic or a positioning move; it was about integrity and the long-term success of my clients. When someone is at their emotional peak, they’re not in the best state to make investment decisions. It’s crucial that they feel certain and grounded. That’s why, after this potential client expressed his desire to join, I waited a few days before providing him with the link to sign up. I wanted him to have the time to reflect and ensure his decision was one of calm certainty. This approach is something I recommend to all of you. Whether you’re considering a new business venture, a partnership, or any significant investment, take the time to reach an emotionally calm state before deciding. High emotions can cloud judgment and lead to decisions that may not align with your long-term goals. By waiting a few days, I could gauge the level of true commitment. If he was still certain after the initial excitement wore off, then I knew he was truly ready. And indeed, after a few days, he confirmed his commitment, showing that he was making a clear-headed decision. As you navigate your business journey, remember to approach your decisions with this same level of emotional calm. It’s not about rushing or making choices in the heat of the moment. It’s about taking the time to ensure that your decisions are aligned with your goals and values. |
