When you set a truly impactful goal, what’s the first question you ask yourself? If it’s “How much will this cost?” or “How long will it take?” let me tell you, those are the two worst things you can ask. When you start by weighing time and cost, you’re limiting yourself before you even begin. It’s a mindset that traps you in hesitation and excuses, instead of driving you toward your goal with the energy and focus it deserves.

Think about it this way: If your goal is a true North Star—one that compels and inspires you—would it really matter what the cost or time commitment is? When your vision is clear and the impact is profound, those details become irrelevant. The focus shifts from “What will I lose?” to “What could I accomplish?” That’s a radical shift, but it’s essential for real progress.

Your North Star isn’t something you chase because it’s easy or convenient. It’s something that drives you forward, regardless of the obstacles. And those hurdles? They only hold power if you let them. To reach impactful goals, we need to commit with a mindset that the “how” and the “when” are secondary to the “why.”

So, I challenge you: drop the cost and time analysis. Look at your North Star, decide that you’re all in, and pursue it with everything you have. When you can move forward without counting the cost or measuring the time, you’ll open the door to levels of growth and impact you hadn’t thought possible.
