What Will They Remember?

You want to know the real legacy?

It’s not the building with your name on it. It’s not the title on your LinkedIn. It’s not even the number they etch on the tombstone.

It’s the ripple effect of how you made people feel.

I’ve come to realize that the better angle, the one that actually matters, is to care so deeply, so relentlessly, that people don’t remember you, but they remember what you helped them believe about themselves.

They remember the encouragement. The belief. The push. The doors you opened. The version of them you saw before they did.

They might not recall your name five years from now. But they’ll remember the confidence. The support. The opportunity. And that, to me, is worth more than any spotlight.

That’s what I’m chasing. And that’s what this next phase of work is about: writing the manifesto, not the memoir.

I didn’t even know what a manifesto really was until Stephan Spencer, a brilliant friend and advisor to our business, broke it down. It’s not a memoir. Not a cute little story. It’s a flag in the ground. A line in the sand.

A call to arms.

It’s not “let me tell you my story.” It’s “this is the way we do things. This is what we stand for. This is what we will not tolerate.”

It’s not about ego. It’s about principle.

And that’s what we’re building, something that transcends me. Something people can rally around. Something they can carry long after I’m gone.

So ask yourself this: are you writing a story for people to read, or building a standard for them to live?

Because in the end, it’s not about being remembered, it’s about what you help others remember about themselves.

That’s the game I’m playing.

Stay tuned for more insights in our next newsletter. Remember, it's the small adjustments that often make the biggest impact on your business's profitability. Here's to your continued success!
